Part-Time Substitute Van Drivers Needed
Location: Germantown Central School District
Position Type: Part-Time, Substitute
Reports To: Transportation Department

Job Summary:
Germantown Central School District is seeking reliable and dedicated Part-Time Substitute Van Drivers to join our team. This position involves transporting students safely to and from out of district programs in Albany, Durham, Renssellaer and Castleton in a district owned 7 passenger minivan. As a Substitute Van Driver, you will play a crucial role in supporting our transportation team and ensuring a safe and positive experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport students to and from school programs.
  • Ensure all safety procedures and regulations are followed at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and well-kept vehicle.
  • Report any vehicle issues or incidents to the Transportation Coordinator immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records for each trip, including departure and arrival times using provided documentation forms.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Qualifications:
  • CDL C with EI (Excepted Intrastate) designation and P Endorsement (this license is a written exam available at the DMV office).
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must posess or acquire NYS DMV bus driver fingerprint clearance. 
  • Must posess or acquire NYS Education fingerprint clearance to work with students.
  • Ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings and afternoons.
  • Previous experience driving an 8 passenger van or similar vehicle preferred, but not required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.
