James DiDonna began as the Jr/Sr High school Principal in July of 2017. Mr. DiDonna was born and raised across the river in Kingston, NY and currently resides in Hurley, NY with his wife Meg and their 2 children Andrew and Rose.
Mr. DiDonna studied Philosophy at Fordham University in the Bronx. He then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University in Lincoln Center. He ultimately earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from The College of St. Rose in Albany. Mr. DiDonna worked in finance in NYC for a number of years before beginning his teaching career as an elementary school teacher in his hometown of Kingston. After teaching for 9 years, Mr. DiDonna became a High School Assistant Principal in Ellenville, NY and then a Middle School Principal in Pine Plains.
As an educator, Mr. DiDonna has focused on collaboration between school staff, students and families. “Working together toward academic and personal success with all stakeholders has always been a goal and philosophy of mine,” states Mr. DiDonna, “It is only through true collaboration that we can all grow and succeed as a school community.”
Moving forward Mr. DiDonna hopes to maintain the small community feel that defines Germantown. He enjoys establishing and sustaining the close relationships schools have with their communities. “I look forward to having a long and effective career here in Germantown and that success will be defined by the success of the school and its students.”
